PIONEER OF SOUTH-STYRIAN WINE MIRACLE

The Gross family has been growing wine since 1907, in Ratsch (South Styria) near the Austro-Slovenian border. Alois Gross is considered a pioneer of the South Styrian “wine miracle”. Since the 1980s, his dry whites have been awarded with countless national and international prizes. Alois Gross had observed the development of winemaking on plantations in Slovenia and Styria for quite some time. Convinced by their potential for quality, he purchased vineyards in the Haloze region in 2004  (formerly Kollos), south of Ptuj.
